February 17, 2026 - The City of Roma is pleased to announce that the BHE Renewables Foundation hasgenerously donated $25,000 to support the purchase and installation of a newplayground set at Guadalupe Plaza. This contribution fulfills a long‑awaitedcomponent of the plaza’s renovation plan and marks an exciting enhancement forthe community.
GuadalupePlaza underwent major renovations three years ago, with a playground originallyenvisioned as part of the project. Due to financial constraints, that portionof the plan was postponed. Thanks to the support of BHE Renewables Foundation,the city is now able to move forward with this important addition.
Romais home to a large municipal park featuring more than twenty playground sets,including accessible and inclusive play systems.
WhileGuadalupe Plaza is not a designated park, it sits in the heart of thecommunity, surrounded by residential neighborhoods and currently home to apopular food park. The addition of a playground will further transform theplaza into a vibrant, family‑friendly gathering space for residents of allages.
Installationof the new playground equipment is expected to begin soon, with completionanticipated in approximately two months.
